Fake Celebrity Pranks New York City

On the night of July 27th, 2012, a huge prank was pulled in New York City and this is the video of what took place. Brett Cohen came up with a crazy idea to fool thousands of pedestrians walking the streets of Times Square into thinking he was a huge celebrity, and it worked! Not only did it work, it caused quite a stir. This social experiment, of sorts, makes a profound statement about how modern culture is so attracted to pop culture, without any real credibility needed.

He dressed up like a typical celebrity and was accompanied by an entourage of two professional bodyguards, two assistants, and photographers pretending to be paparazzi. While the assistants and photographers waited for Brett to exit the 49th street marquee at NBC Studios, they started a buzz that a "big star" was about to walk out, thus making it worth their while to wait and get a picture. Many asked the crew whom Brett was, and no answer was given. They were forced to either make something up, or just take a picture with him in hopes that their Facebook friends or Twitter followers might have a better idea.

Bigfoot Hoaxer Killed in Accident

A Montana man was struck and killed by cars Sunday night while trying to hoax a Bigfoot sighting. The Montana Highway Patrol reported that Randy Lee Tenley of Kalispell was pronounced dead at the scene on U.S. Highway 93 south of Kalispell after being hit by two cars consecutively.

Tenley was wearing a military-style ghillie suit, which is a type of camouflage that resembles vegetation or foliage. Police interviewed Tenley's friends to determine why he would be wearing a full-length dark ghillie suit in the right-hand lane of the highway at night, and were apparently told of Tenley's nocturnal Bigfoot-inspired mischief.

Trooper Jim Schneider, interviewed by the Daily Inter Lake.com, said that Tenley "was trying to make people think he was Sasquatch so people would call in a Sasquatch sighting. You can't make it up. I haven't seen or heard anything like this before. Obviously, his suit made it difficult for people to see him."

The most famous film of a Bigfoot — one shot in 1967 in Bluff Creek, Calif., by a man named Roger Patterson — is widely considered a hoax pulled off by a man in a costume. Whether Patterson was the hoaxer or victim of a hoax is unclear, but anyone pulling such a stunt these days is taking a real risk. [Bigfoot, Nessie & the Kraken: Cryptozoology Quiz]

Tenley's death will likely reignite a long-standing debate within the Bigfoot community: Would it be ethical to shoot and kill a Bigfoot? Some say yes, because that's the only way to prove they exist, and once proof is found, funds could be made available to protect them as an endangered species. Others say no, that because Bigfoot sightings are so rare, they must have very small populations and killing one might drive the animals to extinction. Ecological ethics aside, aiming a gun at a Bigfoot could be a bad idea. You simply can't know for sure if the mysterious, burly figure you have lined up in your sights is the real beast, or a bear, or a hoaxer in a costume.

Top five odd Olympic questions answered!

Why do divers shower? Why do athletes bite their medals? We look at (and attempt to answer) the top questions of the Games.

What is that tape athletes are wearing?

Kinesio tape, developed by a Japanese doctor over 30 years ago, is much more than just a fashion statement -- though athletes like German beach volleyball player Katrin Holtwick use it for both. It takes a special certification just to be licensed to apply it and once on, it separates the upper layer of the skin from muscle tissue. This extra space allows for muscles to fire and recover more quickly.

Why do divers shower after getting out of the pool?

Since the water in the diving pool is typically warmer than the conditions in the venue, divers like Canada's Riley McCormick and Britain's Tom Daley will take a warm shower (or sit in a hot bath, or both) upon exiting the pool to keep their muscles warm. Without it, they could cramp, preventing the flexibility and agility required to execute their dives.

Why do track events run anti-clockwise?

There is no consensus on why this has been the accepted standard for nearly a century. In the ancient Greek games the track was just a single straight, and events were run up-and-back, as in the swimming. Despite British athletics trailblazers Oxford and Cambridge originally running clockwise, track events in America were run anti-clockwise on horse racing ovals. In the early part of the 20th Century many nations adopted this convention, leading to the IAAF adopting it.

Hadir sama Ketua Pengarah Jabatan Pengangkutan Jalan (JPJ) Datuk Solah Mat Hassan, Ketua Pengarah Jabatan Keselamatan Jalan Raya (JKJR) Leslie Leon, Ketua Pengarah Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur (DBKL) Datuk Salleh Yusup, Ketua Pengarah Institut Keselamatan Jalan Raya Malaysia (MIROS) Dr Wong Shaw Voon dan Timbalan Ketua Pasukan Bukit Aman ACP Mohd Fuad Abd Latif.

Humor Site 9GAG Raises $2.8 Million In Funding

I’ve been around the Internet for a while. I find that there are certain Web sites that you don’t mention in polite company less you be laughed out of the room. One of those Web sites is 9GAG. LONDON — So you want to be a 77kg (170 pounds) weightlifter, eh? FYI: Sometimes things work out as they did for Sa Jae-hyouk of South Korea during the London Olympics on Wednesday

That thing that looks like a bran muffin under Sa's skin on his right arm would be his elbow, which was dislocated as he attempted a 162kg (357 pounds) lift in the snatch, according to the Daily Mail. He screamed in pain, as medical and team personnel rushed over to assist him at ExCeL arena. It was all quite unsettling.
