Gabriel Agbonlahor suffered vile death threats from One Direction fans after tackling boy band member Louis Tomlinson during Stiliyan Petrov's charity match at Celtic Park.
Agbonlahor was hounded with abuse from angry fans on Twitter following his challenge on Tomlinson, which left the 21-year-old musician laid flat out on the pitch.
The game had been organised by Petrov, who was diagnosed with leukaemia in 2012, in order to raise money for the Stiliyan Petrov Cancer Foundation.
One irate fan tweeted "I will find you, and I will kill you", while the Aston Villa striker also received threats of having part of his genitals cut off.

Tomlinson's plight drew plenty of sympathy, with another fan posting "seeing Louis Tomlinson get hurt and falling on the floor in pain is so painful to watch, it's like watching your kid [sic] get bullied".
After the match, in which a Petrov XI beat a Celtic XI 5-3, Agbonlahor stated he would apologise for the tackle.
"It was one of those things," Agbonlahor said. "I'll apologise to Louis when we meet up. I know he enjoyed playing in the game and it's fantastic that he took time out to be here."
Celtic XI manager Martin O'Neill later revealed the singer had been sick in the changing room following his substitution.
"Agbonlahor smashed into him [Tomlinson] and he picked himself up and he was ill at the dressing room area," O'Neill said. "He has rushed off now but I think he is fine - he doesn't know where he is but I think he is fine."
